The story revolves around fighting against Mundus, a demon lord who has murdered Dante and Virgil’s mother whilst banishing Sparda from the world. Indeed, more modern iterations of the reboot and its sequels are compared to the likes of Dark Souls or the new God of War (2018) release. The changes were enough to move it more in line with action games of the era as opposed to its original routes that made it a more fast-paced, action-oriented version of Resident Evil. Whether playing the game with the added DLC or the base game, you will receive a highly polished action adventure game. Though long-standing fans of the series still felt slighted by the changes to Dante and other major characters, the reboot achieved what was intended: a new entry point to the series.
By release, though, the game itself was given rave reviews by critics.
